New Diorama has made a commitment to a radical new programming model that offers a higher level of support to the very best theatre companies. To ensure that we remain open to new ideas and groups, we are now accepting Submissions of Interest for our 2019/20 Season.
We're looking for the best early, mid-career and established theatre companies to create work for our 2019/20 Season of work. If you're making ensemble-led work, then we're offering the best Off-West End deal in London. For our next season we're looking to offer:
Up To A Five Week Run
We'll be programming shows up to runs of five weeks long, helping to boost press coverage, enhance word of mouth and build audiences. As well as an extended run, each selected show will receive a full week of technical theatre time to realise ambitious set and design visions.
Up To A £10,000 Inital Cash Commission
We're offering an up-front commission of £10,000 for every five-week run (£2,000 per performance week). As well as this commission, once ticket sales for your show have hit 50%, we split everything 50/50. Meaning New Diorama takes the initial risk, but we both enjoy the rewards of a successful show.
Full Marketing And Press
New Diorama will provide £8,000 worth of marketing and press for selected shows including video trailers, photoshoots and show related advertising. Our designer will design all print and imagery for the season, while our press agency, Borkowski, will attract editorial and review coverage.
Offers Across The Whole Season
We have one of the cheapest theatre tickets available for main house shows Off-West End (£15 in our current season). As well as this lower price, across our 2019/20 Season we'll be offering £3 Preview Tickets for those on Job Seekers Allowance, a £10 ticket for all West Euston Residents and a dedicated matinee performance for each show, free for isolated older people.
Support With Fundraising
New Diorama will read, note and discuss any fundraising applications or bids you need to submit relating to your show. Because of the strength of our investment and the quality of the work we present, New Diorama has a very strong success rate with applications to Arts Council England, with quite a few of our supported companies being Arts Council England NPOs.
We're dedicated to removing as many barriers as possible that may prevent audiences enjoying shows at NDT. Across our 2019/20 Season we will host two captioned and one relaxed performance of every programmed show - with New Diorama covering all costs.
Theatre Tax Relief
To make sure our supported artists get the most out of Theatre Tax Relief, we work with each group so New Diorama can make a joint claim on behalf of all our programmed shows. This lowers the accountancy fees for everyone and ensures all eligible funds are refunded to our artists.
Our new deal is about investing in the future artistic success of the companies we programme. Therefore, even though we are substantially investing in every group we programme, we will not except or accept any future life royalty on any production we commission.
