Whole Hog Theatre’s production of Princess Mononoke is transferring to the AiiA Theatre in Tokyo to run from 29th April – 6th May.  It has been 16 years since the film was originally released in Japan and established a box office record of 19.3 billion yen.

Whole Hog Theatre will be performing their production in English with Japanese subtitles.

Director Alexandra Rutter says; ‘To be able to bring this production back to its home in Japan is an immense honour. We look forward to sharing this special show with even more audiences and celebrating the work of Studio Ghibli.’

Whole Hog return to New Diorama Theatre for a second two week run in June which sold out in 4 and a half hours and broke NDT box office records.  We wish them all the best for their exciting transfer to Japan.
